Barry and rain had a complicated relationship. They used to get along just fine when he was younger... he would curl up next to his window as a boy and read his comic books to the sound of drops pattering against the glass beside him. When he was a little older he would wrap himself up in a blanket and watch a horror film when there was a bad storm outside, effectively adding to the suspense of the movie and making him jump every time there was a crash of thunder. He used to like the rain.
Now, the rain just hurt.
Running through falling drops used to be a minor inconvenience to him before he was struck by lightning, but a little bit of water hitting your face at Mach 2 was enough to leave a mark. When you have hundreds of them hitting every part of your body, it was like getting pelleted with evil little demon tears, and Barry learned his lesson early on that running through the rain meant keeping the mask on and his head down if he didn't want to end up with miniature bruises all over his body. But he didn't have the mask here, he realized that almost immediately after waking up in the middle of the street with a soaked back, and when he ran into the nearest building to find shelter he had to do so almost blindly to keep the painful bits of water from hitting his eyes. Just his luck; the first building he ran into barely had a roof. The second was missing half of a wall, and the third was a decent mix of the first two.
By the time Barry found a place that was high enough from the flooding and didn't have holes everywhere, he was covered in little red marks that he was sure would turn into bruises before fading away completely, thanks to his metabolism and healing. Rain usually hurt but this rain hurt even more, with how much there was and how hard it was coming down. He stayed a safe distance from the old, dirty window that was somehow still intact, rattling in its frame, and he frowned as he stared out at the streets. "What part of this is supposed to be safe?" He mumbled to himself, recalling what the Also Humans had promised him, and he was about to sit on the floor and wait it out when he saw something - someone - moving outside. There was no hesitation as he ran out into the rain, this time at a normal speed, his fear of being discovered so ingrained into him that he hadn't even considered he might not have to worry about that here.
He approached he person and grabbed their shoulder to let them know he was there, his voice barely audible over the roaring winds as he tried to yell over them. "Hey! It's dangerous out here, the streets are flooding. What are you doing? Come on!"
